Texas Health Resources Performance Tracker

An internal application which allows performance tracking for hospitals within THR’s network.

The Problem: THR has a vast network of hospitals across Texas, each with their own tracking system and no centralized overview into the data.

The solution: Create one tool that would uniformly track performance at each hospital and allow managers at all levels to see permissioned performance data.

Challenges

  • Challenging structure. The app had to allow for the highest levels of management to see data at the top as well as for them to dig through 4 levels of the org chart – c-suite, area performance, hospital performance, division performance
  • Solution: Work closely with Subject Matter Experts at all levels to understand the hierarchical structure as they see it. Find the commonalities in the structures and build out a common user flow. This helped us understand that we needed a combination of navigation techniques that, although complex, would be logical and user-friendly.

Users: Executives, Division Managers, Hospital Managers, Department Managers

The Process:

  • User Interviews – Individual and Group
  • Journey Mapping
  • Wireframes, Comps, Prototypes
  • Iterative design: discovery, design/build, and review
The Team:

  • Sr. Product Designer (Me)
  • 1 UX Researcher
  • 1 Project Lead
  • 1 Front-end Developer
  • 1 Graphic Designer
